Ky2, a Toyota RAV4 equipped with a Kymeta KyWay™ terminal, is traveling over 8,000 miles across America to demonstrate how high-throughput mobile access will drive dramatic advancements for connected cars. #KyTrek2
Kymeta mTenna technology and global services will deliver applications, firmware over-the-air (FOTA), software over-the-air (SOTA), telematics information and infotainment globally – not to mention, internet practically anywhere.
The Kymeta mTenna technology enabled KyWay terminal is installed on a Toyota RAV4 that is trekking across the United States using Skype video conferencing, Netflix streaming video, cloud-based applications and cloud-based office productivity tools, voice recognition search and the internet all along the way. Map tiles on navigation systems are populating quickly and seamlessly – even off-road in the Utah wasteland, and in some of the most rugged and remote areas of New Mexico. Internet applications in Ky2 are operating reliably in areas of spotty coverage and mobile network dead zones.
