Kymeta provides connectivity in Puerto Rico to support relief efforts
Kymeta technology is providing 24/7 broadband mobile connectivity, offering relief communication services to communities throughout Puerto Rico from three vehicles outfitted with Kymeta flat panel satellite terminals.
Kymeta, Liberty Global, Erwin Hymer Group, Intelsat, Walgreens, Duracell, and others are supporting relief efforts in Puerto Rico. Kymeta connected vehicles mean FEMA workers can now connect their laptops to the internet and guide people through the FEMA application process for assistance. In addition, Kymeta mobile satellite communications technology is providing those affected by the hurricane with the ability to withdraw much needed cash from pop-up ATMs, seek medical attention and fill their prescriptions, and to make phone calls to loved ones outside of the disaster zone.
Over 1,000 affected individuals have been served in Puerto Rico to date, and the relief caravan plans to reach over 30 communities over the next 8 weeks. The satellite internet access and cellular calling ability, enabled by Kymeta technology, is also providing first responders and community members in Puerto Rico with much needed support. Kymeta is proud to partner in this relief effort to deliver connectivity via satellite where it’s needed most.
