End Point Connectivity (Expected Range: ICMP Response, No Packet loss)*
Methodology: Ability to ping a known address through the assigned PoP and measure the corresponding response time. (8.8.8.8).
Download Speed Peak (Expected Range: ~75Mbps +/- 10Mbps)*
Methodology: Each satellite for Ku-band forward service link (to the OneWeb Approved Equipment) comprises 16 beams. Each beam has 1 channel with an occupied bandwidth of 250 MHz & total symbol rate of 230.4 Msps. The OneWeb Approved Equipment Peak possible is 195 Mbps. Using OneWeb Ookla Speed Test Server (LINK) / IPERF, note download speed peak (in Mbps)
Upload Speed Peak (Expected Range: ~15Mbps +/- 5Mbps)*
Methodology: Each satellite for Ku-band return service link (from the OneWeb Approved Equipment) comprises 16 channels of 125 MHz each. Each channel carries one of the Ku-band user beam return channels. The OneWeb Approved Equipment Peak possible is 32 Mbps in the RL. Using OneWeb Ookla Speed Test Server (LINK) / IPERF, note the upload speed peak (in Mbps).
Latency (Expected Range: Total ETE latency target is <100ms.)*
Methodology: Assessment of system ETE latency inclusive of equipment processing delays, propagation delays and WAN delays. Nominal processing delay contribution targets are 6.1 – 6.6ms for the OneWeb Approved Equipment, 5ms for the SNP, 5ms for the PoP and 0.3ms for the remainder of the CN. Satellite round-trip delay is 33ms. Using OneWeb Ookla Speed Test Server (LINK), note latency (in ms).
Jitter (Expected Range: Jitter target is ~10ms.)*
Methodology: Account for LTE QoS packet delay and loss targets dependent on priority class and GBR or Non-GBR. Using OneWeb Ookla Speed Test Server (LINK), note jitter (in ms).
Webpage Loading times (Expected Range: Load times without any noticeable degradation in service when compared to a fixed line connection. <5s.)*
Methodology: Service test confirm the ability to conduct Internet searching and web browsing using the Public Internet. Note webpage loading times.
Video Conferencing (Expected Range: The quality of the session needs to be noted in terms of whether any lockups occurred, and assessment made of overall experience when compared to supporting such a session from a fixed line arrangement.)*
Methodology: Perform a service test by conducting a 2-way conference using a well-known application (Teams, Zoom, WebEx). Both audio and video should be used including the chat and recording features. Note any observations and experiences.
Video Streaming (Expected Range: Playback without any noticeable degradation in service when compared to a fixed line connection. Of particular interest is any noticeable buffering of received data. 0 frames dropped, no buffer, measured via 'Stats for Nerds' view on YouTube Playback.)*
Methodology: Perform a service test confirming the ability to stream live video (IPTV) from the PUT over the Public Internet. Note any observations and experiences.
File Download (Expected Range: N/A - Measured not scored -The average throughput should be noted.)*
Methodology: Download a 1GB file from https://www.thinkbroadband.com/download Service test confirming that a large file can be successfully downloaded without any corruption. The size of the file may require satellite handovers to complete. Note any observations, experiences and average throughput.
File Upload (Expected Range: N/A - Measured not scored -The average throughput should be noted.)*
Methodology: Uploading an 1GB file using the FTP (Server TBC) Service test. Confirm that a large 1GB file can be successfully uploaded from a designated site without any corruption. The size of the file may require satellite handovers to complete. Note any observations, experiences and average throughput.
OneWeb Approved Equipment Stability Test*
Methodology: Conduct a soak test over a 24hr period provided Commercial Service Introduction has been notified by OneWeb to Distribution Partner (full service availability >50N) using IPERF.
