fire_featureFRIDAY HARBOR, Washington, November 1, 2013—Strategic News Service (SNS) is proud to announce that Kymeta has been selected as a 2014 FiReStarter company, to be featured at its 12th annual Future in Review (FiRe) conference. Described by The Economist as “the best technology conference in the world,” FiRe features global thought leaders in technology and the global economy, including Elon Musk, Paul Jacobs, Mark Hurd, Vint Cerf, Leroy Hood, Azim Premji, Craig Venter, Michael Dell, and many others. FiReStarters are selected based on the strength of their innovations and their potential to bring positive change to the world, and are showcased during the conference both at an exclusive investor reception and in panels throughout the event.

“Kymeta is honored to have been selected as a FiReStarter company for 2014, and we look forward to engaging with the extraordinary circle of innovators and leaders that participate and contribute to Mark’s unparalleled gathering of the technology transformation community,”
—Vern Fotheringham, CEO and Chair of Kymeta.

Kymeta is developing the next-generation antennas for satellite communications, simplifying satellite connections needed for instant broadband service anywhere in the world, including mobile applications such as planes, trains, boats, and automobiles. Kymeta’s innovative antennas use metamaterials technology to electronically and dynamically steer the antenna beam toward the satellite with no moving parts. The Kymeta technology enables flatter, thinner, lighter, more efficient, and less expensive antennas compared with traditional satellite antenna technologies.

“Kymeta is honored to have been selected as a FiReStarter company for 2014, and we look forward to engaging with the extraordinary circle of innovators and leaders that participate and contribute to Mark’s unparalleled gathering of the technology transformation community,” said Vern Fotheringham, CEO and Chair of Kymeta.

“We are delighted to have Kymeta joining us as a FiReStarter company. The advances it is bringing to antenna design, and therefore to wireless technology and global communications, are revolutionary. And while they couldn’t be more exciting to technologists and business leaders, they will likely be even more important to society,” said Mark Anderson, SNS CEO and FiRe Chair.
