Kymeta Government Solutions Unveils New Flat Panel Satellite Communications Solutions at AUSA

Washington, DC – October 9, 2017: Kymeta—the company delivering on the promise of global, mobile connectivity—will unveil and demonstrate its revolutionary metamaterials-based, mobile, flat panel, electronically-scanning satellite antenna and terminal solutions at the Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition (AUSA). Kymeta’s communication solutions are designed and built to integrate into a variety of vehicles and vessels, for fixed and mobile government, first responder, and defense users.

“Kymeta mTenna™ technology makes low SWaP, rugged, low-profile, cost-effective, simple operation, high-throughput communications possible,” said David Kervin, General Manager and Vice President of Kymeta Government Solutions. “We understand government, defense and first-responder user needs because many of our people come from that arena,” continued Kervin. “As former mission SATCOM users, we recognize that SATCOM systems that are rugged, simple to operate, reliable, easy and fast to set up, and that can communicate on the move, can make all the difference.”

The Kymeta satellite antennas and terminals are not phased arrays. Kymeta mTenna technology is a metamaterials-based flat panel satellite solution that has no moving parts, and uses holographic beamforming to auto-acquire, auto-switch between satellites, and auto-reacquire whenever a signal is lost. The Kymeta mTennau7 is also the first metamaterials-based product to be commercialized. Kymeta’s innovative use of metamaterials has solved some of the satellite industry’s longest standing technical challenges: the need for lightweight, slim, on-the-move communication systems and services that require very little power and have no moving parts to maintain, calibrate, tune or repair. This was evidenced recently when Kymeta Government Solutions provided emergency mobile SATCOM services to the Greenville police department before, during and after the eclipse event on August 21, 2017.

Kymeta also provides satellite service access that can be bundled with Kymeta antennas and terminals. KĀLO™ satellite services provide a simple and easy way to purchase an alternative to traditional satellite services for government organizations. These services can be purchased in by-the-gigabyte plans with as little as a twelve-month commitment.

“Our experience tells us that the most important requirements for government, first responder and defense environments are low SWaP, on-the-move communications that provide high-throughput, portability, mobility, and ease of use features these situations often necessitate,” said Kervin. “Whether communication is required on land, on the sea, or in the air, and regardless of whether it is on the pause or on the move, connectivity needs to be available, even when terrestrial networks are unreliable.”

Kymeta SATCOM solutions will be on display at the AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition, October 9-11, at booth #653. For more information or to schedule a demonstration, visit http://www.kymetacorp.com/2017/05/08/ausa-2017/.

About Kymeta

What’s the missing link to connecting billions of people to high-speed mobile access? Antennas. And Kymeta offers the world’s only commercially viable electronically scanning satellite antennas and terminals. Kymeta antennas and terminals deliver high-throughput communications for land, sea and air, making mobile connectivity as available as a view of the sky. Plus, the world’s largest satellite operator, Intelsat, has joined forces with Kymeta to deliver KĀLO™ global access services that combine with Kymeta antennas and terminals to provide revolutionary mobile connectivity. Without Kymeta mTenna technology, connecting and staying connected to all those new satellites while on the move will be difficult, if not impossible.

If it moves, Kymeta will keep it connected. Anywhere.
